Your harness and fuse block are from EZ Wiring Home of EZ Wiring which is a good company with a quality harness - I used them on my coupe and had no complaints. The first thing that jumps out at me is the rust stain in the flasher socket, plus the rust stains to the LL on what appears to be the mounting plate. Looks like your fuse block has gotten pretty wet sometime in the past, which is not good.

After you fixed the short did you buy another new flasher module, or are you using the "new" one that worked just before the fuse blew? The short may have taken out the module, and then blew the fuse. Also, I chased a turn signal issue on mine and found that it was actually the 4-way flasher module (upper left in your picture) that was bad. If you had a short in the circuit in your tail/brake lamp circuit you might want to check that flasher unit, too, just to be sure it's not something simple. You haven't by chance switched to LED bulbs lately, have you? Different flasher required for those, due to the extreme low current draw.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
