You will never get short wheelbase cars like we have to give you a really comfortable ride. You can tune the suspensions to some degree but they will never ride like a passenger car. Bumps are just a part of owning one.
Not to hijack the thread, but I was reading through the information in the December 2012 Street Rodder on the new VooDoo Hot Rods carbon fiber '32 roadster on their own space frame chassis, and they pointed out that the key to better ride and handling is increasing the suspension travel, which is limited to an inch or two on a "traditional" setup with leaf spring front & coilover rear. Not sure I'm ready for a tube chassis street rod, but they may be the next step in the evolution....
