Had a 66 vet BB with side pipes, I have had side pipes on this car 10 years plus, no burns. It's a 34 that means suicide doors. If you place your leg against the door jam getting in and out, or are short I guess you could get burned. I have burned my forearms on the header part, timing, changing plugs, never a leg on the side pipes. That bad32 with side pipes will be Killer32.

I have zero problem with Lake pipes. But for a fact they are much higher on the side of the car and if there were an exhaust configuration to be cautious of that is it. Side pipes at least are low and out of the way.
