IHC pickups had coolers that had the heater hoses running to them, could be mounted anywhere. Looked like a 2" pipe, about 14" long. Run the coolant through the heater first! And don't put a shut-off valve for temp control unless it's a bypass type, or the cooler won't work with the heat shut off. Go ahead, ask me how I know that! D'OH!.
