I don't know a thing about the Engine Works, but the MSD Ready to Run has all of the electronics (computer, in other words) packed in that housing. There are usually two things that will fry them. Water and since they are pretty well sealed. The second, voltage surges. Then there is that old bug-a-boo, it just happened and you got the bad one (or two)
Send it back and ask for a diagnosticDave W

Myfirst thing will be to check the voltage my alternator is putting out when I get the new distribuator in.
