Was rearranging the garage and happen to notice a defect in one of my spare engine blocks laying about.
Couldn't believe it..looks like a crack..about 2 inches below the deck surface..running parallel to the crank and cam..between the 3 and 5 cylinder...on the outside of the block.
Don't see any damage on the block interior.
Anyone seen casting flash this bad on an engine block.
Common sense says its a freeze crack,..but the raised surface has me wondering.
