    Roger, my initial reaction when I first saw them is the same as yours. The more I look at them though I'm thinking you could set them up, verify the pionion angle (even test drive it a little) then weld them in place.
    I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

    I guess that is how they are supposed to work, because they sure wouldn't keep the axle from rotating just clamped.
