    Side mirrors

When I built my 37 ford, I put the simple 3" round side mirrors on it thinking it would be sufficient, and they looked nice. They have been effectively worthless. First off, they vibrate, so you cant really see anything, anyway. Secondly, anytime someone slams the door a little too hard (including myself), they get out of whack. Even the wind seems to throw them off. They just won't stay put.

I felt like I wanted something a little bigger, but there really arent many options out there. Seems like all of the "street rod" ones are tiny. What can I do to make the ones I have more useful?

I have a couple from hereSUN SPEC BILLET FACTORY, LLC tho in 3". They do have 4" as well - none are inexpensive. A note, mine don't shake even with the 'loose as a goose' roadster body. They are mounted with a thin rubber cushion(my supply) as well as allen screws and flat washers from inside. I have found the RHS useless, but that was my mounting mistake And they should have been polished too

I have the same problem on my 27. I have 3 inch peep mirrors and they are better than nothing, but barely. I am going to add a center mirror on the windshield, Dan put one on his rpu and he said it makes all the difference in the world. My 23 had some nice 4 inch mirrors that worked well, but I don't know what they were off of, I bought them with some other parts off of Ebay. I think they were motorcycle items.

I used the 4" swan type that mount on top of the doors, no drilling. I then put a 4" round "truckers mirrors" over the original mirror glass. Just stick on with double sided tape, no shake, no, rattle, no roll, and I get pretty good panoramic view. Items may be closer than they appear.

IC2, Some of those Sun Spec mirrors look like what I am wanting, but i don't see any prices listed or anywhere to buy. Do you have to call in?

I think part of my problem in the single mounting stud. Two studs would give more strength and allow for a rubber gasket.
