I have 392 in my 48 DeSoto, 160 thermostat, stock fan, shroud, and electric fan. Runs great temp all day long, regardless of outdoor temp, but will not sit in traffic long before it starts to heat. I am using all factory gauges, and temp gauge only goes to 212. Sitting still in traffic, hits the 212 real quickly. Running a BBC water pump, aftermarket (Griffin) alumin radiator. I have run 180 and 195 thermostat, same results.
I'm not wanting to hi jack this thread, just asking for help, maybe will help original posters situation?

What's the size of your water pump pulley and your crank pulley?

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Just checked, and by eyeball, they both look to be the same. Could not get actual measurement, kinda snug from top side, got no lift.
