My local independent paint shop turned me on to them, first because they have a larger, 3/8" port for less restriction, but then for the ease of use when plugging a paint gun on the hose. My other old male QC fittings (non DeVilbiss) fit, but they leak a bit static. The fix is to replace all the male fittings, just live with a bit of "SSSSS" when they're laying around, or unhook them. The paint guns with the mating fittings are tight, no leaking.
