I wish i had taken a picture of what John was showing to everybody in the above pic. He had just showed how to tap and remove the emulsion tube from the Stromberg 97. What we are looking at is the emulsion tube, John has pointed out that when the jet is overly tight in its' seat the emulsion tube gets 'crushed' - the emulsion tube is seated inside a channel and the depth is limited by a collar near the top of the tube, the jet is screwed into the bottom of that channel and makes contact with the end of the emulsion tube. If it is overly tight the jet will push the emulsion tube further up into the channel and collapses the tube around the area where the fuel is emusified. That is one of the slickest pieces of info about the 97's i have ever heard, in fact nobody in attendance was aware of that and that is why we were up at the table for a close look!
