I think that would look really good. To me anytime you can make changes that keep things from catching your eye it is good. You don't want it to look like a bar of soap but just unobtrusive lines make it flow better.
Just my 2 cents.

I agree with Dave and Ken, if you feel like the extra work it would probably turn out fine.
