Could be a "replacement" or a rebuild.
Checker, particularly the 1956-82 A8/Marathon, remains the most famous taxi cab vehicle in the United States. There were a lot of them in New York.
Is there a problem with the carb?"Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty." John Basil Barnhil

Yep the ethanol ate it up.
I cracked it open and there was so much water in it that there was white corrosion all thru it. I ain't even gonna wast my time trying to rebuild it. I want a edelbrock for it anyway. Kurt
