Jumping on it is increasing the electrical demand. When did you last change your plugs? I would probably drop a set of new plugs in it to eliminate them from the equation, but get quality plugs. There's been a rash of crappy plugs coming in from the Far East sweat shops in the last couple of years - some bad out of the box.
