Some use a small water pump pulley to pump more coolant. V8 Monza's had the smallest at 5.25" (I think) and they needed it. Monza's use a short water pump.

Some HiPo pulleys are a little deeper to help stop the belt from jumping.

SB Corvette water pumps have a larger impeller shaft so they use a pulley with a larger pilot (3/4" vs 5/8") hole.
