I just replaced the hoses on my Lincoln hydro boost power steering and when I went to bleed the system the steering "took over" and turns one way with lots of force until reaching the end then procedes the other way with force and back and forth and back and forth. Just got the dang car with no fluid or power steering cause the hose was broke when I got it, so I have no prior history with this car. I even tried reversing the hoses and it did the same thing. Just for clarity I replaced the two hoses that run to and from the steering gear itself (the part that looks like a cross between a rack and pinion unit and a dampner shock)

Is this a symptom of a bad steering gear or control valve? Thanks for any help, at a loss here.
