I just got back from a two hour ride around Tampa Florida.
It never cut out once so it seems to be fixed.
Now that I know how to drop the tank I'll bet I could drop
one in a half hour and replace the fuel pump.
I disconnected a bunch of stuff that I didn't need too.
My set up is differant from what they show in the book.
Three fuel lines in the front of the tank and a filler and a vent
hose in the back of the tank. Let down the two straps push the tank forward
drop the back of the tank down disconnect the wires to the fuel pump
then drop the front of the tank down.

It gave me fits, but just starting, it would run fine but had hard time starting, took it to a shop, the man said can't find anything wrong? fuel psi fine , u just need a tune up, WTF!! he called back 10 mins later said your truck won't start! I SAID NO SHIT DICK TRACY! low fuel psi, the cheap ass autozone pump I put in took a dump on me. SO BUY THE GOOD STUFF!
The wife has me on a diet patch, but I don't think its work'in, she said you have that thing on right? said, ya, on my arm. She said, dumb ass, it go's over your mouth!

Well that Delco I put in mine seems to be working alright now.
It has not died out once since I replace it and it been in the 90's.
The old one was over heating and would just die, then I would have
to wait 20 minutes and restart it, then try to make it home.
I am just relieved that I got it fixed since nothing, or
    no codes would show up.
And I got to fix the gas gage at the same time, that has not worked
since the loading terminals got a ship load of fuel with too much sulfer
in it. They had people running out of fuel all over the state and my wife
was one of them. That was about 3 years ago now, so thats fixed too.

Changing the pump? I know this will get me flamed but I re-engineer the beasts and do what Detroit should have done and put an access panel in the floor.

It will only get you flamed IF yo used a torch to create the access panel...

Hey Pro; No flamming acces panels for me thank you.
I have been driving that thing all over the place and no more problems.
I am just glad I didn't have to cut the car in half.
