Something like that. We try to get to Sullivan when we can, Meramec is a beautiful park and if I'm not mistaken Festus is about an hour away.

Sounds good; we'll have to try and line something up this summer.
Did a little more wiring this evening; I got the rear harness put back in. Also ordered these from a Jeep place; they came in today.
Falcon this is looking great . You have for sure turned this around to a Sport Truck.
Thanks, Bobby! I'll bet the post office never realized what a little gem they had on their hands.
Man, can't believe you don't have dreamsicles.....
For you, Dave; I'll put a cooler full in the back if we ever meet up.
They feel pretty comfy, Steve. I got them from some Jeep place on Ebay I never heard of. I had a set of old Mopar A-100 low back I was going to recover but these were about 1/3 of the cost of recovering the other ones so I sold them and bought these.
LOL! Where did you get that?
I took a day off and kicked some butt on this thing yesterday; I hope to test fire the motor today if I can finish a few more things. I got the front end back on and mounted the radiator after building some brackets. I'm going to try a flex fan and see if that will keep it cool. It's a fairly stock engine other than a few bolt ons so I'm hoping it will. Plug wires and hoses are all on, new aluminum 3/8" fuel line run to the back and I've got the tank painted and ready to go back in, trans cooler mounted back in the frame, inside and engine wiring done other than hooking up a few small things and cleaning it all up, all the rear light cans painted and back in, headlights in; it was a pretty productive day over all.
And another...I need to clean the shop BAD when this is done; what a huge mess.
The van is really coming along nicely Falcon!!! Gonna be a way big fun ride when it's finished and kruizin'!!!!! As for a good old fashioned garage clean-up, put mine on the list, too...what a mess!!!! Oh well, getting lots of work done on the '36!
Add me to the spring cleaning list. Looks great Falcon.
I finally did get it to a point where I could test fire; finished the fuel tank with a new sending unit, got it in and wrapped up some other small stuff. The battery was dead so I took advantage of the moment and cleaned the shop for three hours while it charged. Still a long way to go but I'm not falling over eveything now. i've got fuel coming up out of the rear air horn on the carb and it'll try to fire but wont. Sound like a float adjustment? Time to quit for today; lots of holiday honey do's to attend to. You guys have a great memorial day!
If it's not the float adjustment it could be the rubber O ring on the needle and seat.
Vids Vids Vids you tube em up and link em here Falcon I gotta hear this truck . Man have you done I would say one of the largest projects I have ever seen .
You got it, Bobby. I'll have to have my son show me how to do it; never posted a vid before.
Here's your video, Bobby. I dropped the driveshaft off this morning to get shortened and am working on building some stands for the seats, exhaust, and getting the brakes hooked up. I've got a friend doing some body work on the hood for me; it had a few too many wrinkles for me to tackle.

Hey Falconvan that sounds JUST AWESOME... Sorry about yelling at you but I had not turned the volume down and got a real good blast listening to your big baby firing up... good one and you are getting closer to D day..:whacked::)
There you go, Gary. That'll work good for some before/after views.:D I got word from the drive shaft shop and it'll be ready tomorrow. I decided to start building some seat stands; I needed to know the orientation of the seat so I knew where to put the shifter. I dug through my scrap pile and found some steel plate and some 2 1/2" x 1/2" bar stock left from when I had some old elevators updated, two old pump stands for some hot water circulating pumps from an old boiler I had replaced, and some misc angle iron. Here's what I came up with. Sorry about the pics, a couple came out blurry for some reason.
Looks like the stands should work fine Falcon! So what goes in the back now, a hot tub or a poker table?
Banquet room and casino, Dave!:)
So when do deliveries start??

i`m trying my best to download that silly ice cream tune here ( turkey in the straw ) but i cant do it .. be most appropriate for your ride ..
I was thinking Van Halens version of "Ice Cream Man" would be good, too.
I made a trip to the boneyard Saturday and picked up some seat sliders from a GMC van and a pair of Jaguar seatbelts. You wouldnt believe how hard it is to find cars with black interior anymore. Everything is gray, maroon, or tan. I think the Euoropean car section had the only few cars with black in the whole 50 acre yard. I got my driveshaft back; looks like they did a good job. The original one was so small in diameter that I had to have them make a new one from scratch. I also spent a few hours yesterday finishing up my seat stands and getting one seat mounted. Also, my decals came in and they look really cool; can't wait to get them on!
Yeah, my vote goes to the Van Halen tune!!!
Yeah, me too, Dave. Hard to beat classic VH to make you feel young again. Yesterday a young guy at church wanted to show me the "old" car he just bought; an 84 Camaro! This is old?? Nice car, though. Hard to find one that hasnt been run into the ground or butchered up.
No pics today but I got my shifter done, exhaust on, and brake lines hooked up, along with having the seats finished this weekend. I'm hoping for a short road test next weekend. My wife got me a garage fan for Fathers day; it sure made it easier to work out there. We've had 95+ degrees for over a week with no signs of letting up in the near future.
Been either hot or rainy here for a couple of weeks.. Got things switched around in the garage over the weekend, so now the Ranchero is in the storage garage, and the Plymouth along with the next project are in the garage... Lots to do now....
Did you get the road test done with the van????
I'm close, Dave. I'm hoping Saturday will be the first trip down the street.
got to love VH ice cream man . i fried the ESS tower voice coils out of top drivers more then once to VH :) you could put some altec lansing up on the roof and some big crown drivers in the back along with 4 phase linear amps in the ice cream truck .that should make the ear wax run out of you head :) i know when we had this set up it would make the nails work there way out of the dry wall in the house:whacked:
all my dads freinds had 400s and we have two man they did kick A$$. i kept one and then traded it off for a new bbc bow tie bock10.200 .wish i had it back that amp could set speakers to wast it would blow sparks out of the ess amt 1 voice coils .i just got to the point were the coils were getting hard to find
Pevey (sp) speackers had removable magnets, but we mostly used JBL's.Had the Pevey 18's in "W" boxes in a four way system.Rack of BGW's on each side with Crown's for the top end.We used to borrow signal "changer green bullets" for the top end and mount them in four in a box.Selection of d.i.'s for bass and keys, with Sure sm58's vocals and sm57's for snare.421 Sunhouser for kick drum and a compressor limiter on the drum mix 24 x 4 house board. Two Uri(sp) 32 eq's,one for each side.Rock and roll never dies........just come screaming back once someone starts talking shop again.
