One question?? Why wouldnt the ballist resistor be used in the wiring being the distributor has points?

Its a 1964 bone Stock Chevy 230cid engine.

I thought you had a Ford engine with the starter relay. I will find a Chevy diagram that should help you better.

I will take the Ford diagram off.
