We do deliveries only as a convenience to the customer....it's definitely not a money maker!!! The trip covers the expenses, but then you are also losing the driver from getting any work done in the shop while he's gone.... Roger showed a lot of the other costs, but insurance and licensing isn't free, either!!!! Should you run over some debris and blow a tire on the truck or trailer, there goes anything resembling a profit on that trip!!!!! Plus if the shop is busy and somebody is gone for a few days delivering a car, then somebody else usually ends up working some overtime hours to get the work done that the guy delivering can't do....
