messy shop who else has this problem

Whats with that.???...."Ya can't see the forest cause of all the damn trees"..............."I got so much going on I don't know whats going on."..........." The left hand doesn't have a clue what the right hands doing.".......Sometimes when I go snooping thru the frig my mind is still searching for that wigget that I know damn well was RIGHT THERE.!! a few ago.....The ole Sarge is always so helpful...directing me to all the different colored containers that one can't see thru..Since I can't ever make up my damn mind half the time I simply give up....I think our brains computer goes to overload.:whacked: .....At least your refrig is in a different room...Ours is in sight of the living room..I'm in a direct line of fire.!!!..:CRY: ......

Mine actually on the average stays pretty clean. I have parts in the attic cataloged on a sheet of paper at the bottom of the stairs. When parts start getting harder to find, I usually shut down and clean. By the time I've got the place back in shape the part usually shows up. If I don't keep it clean I end up spending more time wondering around looking for stuff than working on the car. So it's faster to just clean it up. This particular shop is for the car only, so it doesn't get used (messed up) on a daily basis.

I've got to go get a tank of argon today. I think when I get back I'm going to clean the shop.:HMMM: :HMMM: **)

I wish I could put what I had all down on paper or keep tracked of it, I'd probly loose loose some of the paper by the time I had the last paper finshed:( . I think I have 100lb cylinder of propane 2 o2 and 2 acet. and one argon somewhere in there damned if I know. Feel free to post your mess or organized shop or garage its so cold I but I am trying to focus on getting rid of some junks and putting things in they're place I am glad I am not the only one wish I had barns, hangers and loft but I would probly get more stuff and be worse off than I am right now, at least with the snow the village is being lazy about inop. vehicles and proper storage of car parts.

crapper seat what is that my shop doesn't have one of those things I do have some bushes on the side of my garage and a gate where the no treaspassing signs affixed..."just make sure you close the door when you're done"....so the the village stays out ya know.

The mind is a strange machine ,it remembers every little thing
you have experenced in your lifetime.problem is how to access the data base ie you know you have the part but wher ethe hell did you leave it?if you dont succeed first time around do something completely different and let the subconcious take over after an hour or two I get an urge to check out a particular spot
and there it is ,and ive got about 4500 sq ft of floor and some
seeing as i have to get rappelling gear out to negotiate most of it i do pretty well

The side of the building does not work for some of us, I think a "crapper" is going to be a muct for my dream garage. Yes boys you will have to put the flamed seet doen! LOL

I should have rephrased that bowtie...all dirty shop dogs use the side of the garage and the ladies can go up to the house and use the civilized facilities. Even if my dream shop had a turlet or the imfamous "crapper" I doubt any one would want to use it eventually seat up or down, after some of the shop toilet I have seen and been forced to use its better not having one. I think I will just have an account set up with porta johnny:)

Sounds like a great shop Streets, ya got a pics of the inside of it? Love to see what a real orginized shop really looks like. Maybe give me some ideas for one I'm thinking about building,,, but not quite as big as yours tho. :3dSMILE:

I watched American Chopper last night and half the show was about Paul Sr. complaining about the shop being a mess. He threatened to fire Vinnie if the shop gets too messy. He'd have to be an idiot to fire someone as talented as Vinnie for such a stupid reason. If he hired a cleanup guy then he could complain and threaten somebody that's easy to replace.
I don't think threats are a good way to motivate employees.
I was foreman at a machine shop with 10 guys under me and it was always clean and nobody got stressed out over it. Everyone was responsible for keeping their own machine and workbench clean and on Fridays we quit work 15 minutes early for a complete cleanup of the whole shop.
I guess I need some employees in my garage so it would always be clean. It's so much easier to tell somebody to clean it up than to do it myself.
