Another thing to think about. If your gauges are directly in front of you, it may be difficult to see them with the wheel mounted in the 12-3-6-9 (+) position.

Driving 101. Hands at 10 and 2 so keep the spokes away from there.

Thanks for the input. My research reveals the following:
The older the car or racer, the more likely the wheel will be +
Newer hot rods seem to favor the X
Italian 4 spokes seem to be +
UK 4 spokes are almost always X
Hippies with hot rods like 4 spokes =

Mine will stay X so I can see the gauges while wheels are straight.
