    Smile Exhaust pipe sizes

Recently converted Ford 390 ci motor to a 406 ci motor on my 63 1/2 Galaxie
Fastback. Was the original exhaust for the 406 ci motor the same 2" dia as in the 390 ci motor....or was there a larger exhaust pipe dia. for the original 406 ci motor?

Some Ford high performance engines used 2 1/2 inch head pipes and 2 inch tailpipes. Not sure if your example was one of them, but if your 2" stuff is in good condition, I'd use it. Ford aluminized the exhaust pipes back then, they are really good! The factory duals likely have a crossover pipe too.
