Believe it or not, this is actually encouraging to see a wiring loom so nice and tidy. I am about 30% through finally wiring my '29 and it is a nightmare of loose wires so far even though I have tried to measure the lengths. The front and rear lights are pretty straight forward but now the under dash rats nest is starting to get complicated so I wish I had a loom. Years ago I replaced a VW beetle/bug loom on two occasions and it was a piece of cake since it was so simple but my TPI wiring has too much stuff I won't need like a dome light and power seats. I just wish I had some sort of loom design. At the moment I have the wires to the engine going through a hole low down on the drivers side of the firewall because I don't want to mess with a grommet that won't fit the thick 'glass wall but I wonder if it is a mistake to put the wires down low and drape them up over what might be a hot engine later. Several of the wires are the third try as I attempt to organize them better but the idea of actually setting up a loom is a very ideal situation at this point. The problem is that I am not sure what wires go where in terms of using the tie wraps. The TPI circuits are separated into three groups, front, rear and engine so it is the ehgine group that needs to be organized better. I think I will just keep making new wires over and over until they get grouped together a little better. Ken Thurm's wiring makes me dizzy! I just want to end up with something like a loom. Just rambling here but I can say that the loom on the driveway looks good to me! I hope there is still some chance to tie wrap the groups after I get the connections made but it does take planning to avoid a spider web of wires under the dash!

Falcon it's a yes I do love this car . I will throw anything in it . It runs like a top and the A/C works can't get much better . Oh the 33 mpg helps a lot .

Don the burn was mostly a area that was already in loom . But when a plug of say 20 wires had half burnt I just routed them a little better then when the loom was made . When some come in from the left or 2 different looms I just did the best I could . 3 M makes some great tape but it will look ok . The rear loom is all plug and play . It will be the easiest to replace .

This is it with a wax job . The reds always fade so fast since there is no clear on it . Oh I did take off the right front hub cap to make it look better .

I bought a kit several years back to rewire one of my cars, but never found the time. After looking at your pictures and reading your comments, I think the box will be staying on the shelf another year.

Mopar I have never did anything of this magnitude but I figured since I was going to wire a Hotrod I might as well jump in feet first .

Don a idea came to mind while thinking of what you are now doing and what I will be soon . I thought of wire ties closed to about a 2 inch circle . Run your first wire thru them to its connection and tape it to wire tie . You can add a tie when a wire jumps off in a new direction doing same thing . Even use multiple ties in a wire run to keep them grouped together . Then as you run more wires to central locations the tie would almost act as if taped in a loom you get the idea . This will keep the rats nest down and the wires in shape for taping .

Well its been a while since I worked on it . The son is here and will need some transportation . Tonight I did the last 3 splices and got her all taped up and put the dash back in . I am going to have him pull the seats and get carpet back and install the rear loom . Its just layout and clip in will go faster then gettine seats out .
