Ford Headlight question for a Expert.
Ok Guys; I am replacing my front fenders and hood with a one piece front end. I am fabricating my own radiator support and want to come off the sides with a bracket to mount some new lights.
I would like to buy some cheap chrome ones that are the same size as the original headlights. Heck I'd buy some KC's if they had low and high beam bulbs in them or if I could make them work. Anyone done this or know
the best way for me to do this. This way I can get them lined up and cut holes in the new front end and I don't have to worry about them moving when the hood is opened.
This is a 1965 Ranchero. Thanks for your help. Kurt

Here is an idea for you...
Locate the round version of the lights that they use on a pickup with the snowplow attached. Pickup owners with snowplows need these lights as the plow blocks the stock headlights on a pickup. The ones that attach to a bar above the snowplow mount. These have both high and low beam, are authorized for street use and I've seen them with chrome mounts. Newer ones are square but there are a lot of the older round ones around.

Sppedway has several different ones for hotrods. I think the cheapy high low 6 inch are like $69 for a pair.

Thanks Willowbilly3; I'm gonna check them out and measure my head light bulbs to
make sure I've got the right size. Thanks again. Kurt

Maybe a dumb question, but why not mount 'em in the stock position and let them tilt with the front end?

I probably could but I think this would just be easier.
And probably would keep them from getting knocked around
all the time. Kurt

Thanks guys! It's been a long road. Fun doing finishing work for sure. Getting the dash ready for paint and some interior trim. Have to do some finish work on the aluminum headliner before...
