Has this been done?
I have a 6,5 diesel engine on the stand and will be installing it next week. In digging around I find this is a very over square engine. I like oversquare. Bore and stroke are like 4.055 x 3.82 I would think there is enough meat to go .125 over if you were only using say 10:1 compression. So that would make about a 425 (427 sounds better).
When I get the trashed one, I am going to be looking at how to make the injector holes take spark plugs, how to drive a distributor, piston deck thickness so they could be cut down to lower compression. How hard could it be? Maybe the cam would even drive a distributor. If not it has a crank sensor and maybe even a cam sensor so it wouldn't be too hard to fire a V8 coil pack.
This looks too easy, why haven't I heard of this before? Am I missing something?
