An O-ring will only seal a very closely machined part--2-3 thousands at the outside--If the housing ends were done in a wacko-any body can do this, I don't need any alignment tools----
Its going to leak

it was done in a alinement tool, the ends are factory ford torino style ends. without pulling the axle yet, i am guessing I probably nicked the oring, the leak is extremly small, I am going to replace the oring if I can just find it itself, if not, I will put alittle sealent in the housing where it is seated, since i will have the axle out anyways, I am going to put the factory axle seal in it, just to be on the safe side. I am getting ready to drive the car on a 1,000 + mile trip, don't want any problems on the road
besides my suitcase, you shoud see all the extra replacement parts I am taking with me, will be carring a extra axle seal, just in case. never had a problem with the car, but I want to be ready incase.
been planning this trip =driving my 39 chevy for a year now
