Those were the cool car in the day for the hard top retactable into the trunk. I wonder how much trunk space was left with the roof down?

Well I guess this answers my own question. It would seem they put a hard inner box for trunk items that didn't want to get squished!

57 retracts were so much sweeter.
But that 58 is definitely nice.
Car in the first picture is an Aussie car, different trim lines than US made Blue Ovals, usually better looking.Bob
