    Switching Front Axles

    Hey Guys;
    A few years ago when I was building a 73 Mavrick.
    I took the front axles off with the old drum brakes and switched
    them out for the axles and disc brakes off a ford fairmont.
    This worked out real nice and it was cheap.
    I would like to switch the axles and drum brakes off my 65 ranchero
    for some differant axles and disc brakes.
    Anyone know if there is another car that I can switch with like I did with
    my mavrick. Thanks for your help. Kurt

    Your Ranchero is based on the Falcon, and so is the Mustang. All front end parts from a 1st generation 'Tang should work.

    Seems like grenada has been a popular donor car but they are getting hard to find.

    Ever considered a Mustang II front end switch and get rid of those shock towers.

    dmw56;
    Funny you should mention it, HE! HE! HE!
    That's exactly what I'm doing, but I'm building my own A - Arms.
    I've already built the cross member, actually I've built a brand
    new frame to go under the 65 Ranchero.
    I've been taking lots of photo's so once I figure out how to post
    pictures again I'll show some of my progress.
    I have to build a adapter for my engine hoist to pick up the body
    of the ranchero, to set it on my new frame. Kurt
