Well I’m still moving forward, the windshield and back glass are in and the seats have been dropped off at the upholsters. The seats may be ready Wednesday …….I won’t be ready for them quite yet but at least they will be here when I am ready.

I’m holding off putting the trim on the windows until I get all the glass in and I can take a water hose over everything to make sure I don’t have leaks. I’ll probably do the side glass tomorrow.

The big news is I got all the cooler and fuel lines hooked up along with the hoses so I was able to start the engine for the first time and break the cam in and fill the transmission. I don’t have the wiring or dash in yet so I just hot wired the distributor and hooked up and aux temp and oil pressure gauge.

It fired right off, ran at 190 (with a 190 degree thermostat), and carried 55 pounds oil pressure on high idle (30 at hot idle).

Only down side is the steering gear that sat for 15 years doesn't assist but I'll take care of that tomorrow.

It sounds………well kind of like just an old stock motor . If I was listening to it at a stop sign, I sure wouldn’t be intimidated by it. It idles smooth and the exhaust it almost too quiet (I suppose it probably has something to do with the X pipe) I do think the mufflers will get a bit louder with age, but probably not by a lot.

Can’t wait until I get some tail lights and a seat in it so I can take it around the block.

I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....
