Got it back in the car tonight and its got to be the starter switch, checked voltage at end of wire at starter and is ok but once its hooked up does the same funny thing.
the strter does work fine as i hooked up my remote start switch and it activates and works without a problem.
Off to get a new switch(its just a push button style)
