New Rod
I need some advice regarding front brakes and wheels on a 27 Chev. Is a newer style hub available for a stock 27 Chevy spindle? I have the wood spoke spindle mounts on the car now. Would like to put some updated brakes and wheels on. Hoping to retain the stock axle for now.
Thanks,
Gary.

I'm not sure but Speedway seems to have everything I've ever needed, I'm sure they must.

Thanks for the info Sean. I have seen the front axle set-up at Speedway and will go that route if I can't find something simpler. Their axle stuff looks pretty decent for the price. I am trying to do this build on as few $$ as possible. I have done a few other builds in the past so I know how it goes....whatever you think it's gonna cost, double it. So this is a challenge I look forward to.
Sean, is there anything stock from another model that will bolt on?
Thanks again,
Gary.

Did we talk? I am dealing on a pile of old junk that has what I think is a 28 Chevy. It has metal disc wheels scatter about.

Hi, Willobilly3. No we did'nt talk. What I am looking for is a spindle that fits the 27 axle and will hold conventional disc or drum brakes and a steel wheel of somekind. Not sure if something like that is even available but I figured this would be the place to ask.

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
