    Perley - I think I like the fairing, too. Instead of welding it on, though, I would paint it to match the body and attach it with 4 button-head allen bolts. Not much weight or stress there, so you could drill & tap some 1/4-20 or 1/4-28 holes directly in the frame horns and use stainless bolts.

    Rickomatic - As a former welding instructor I shouldn't admit this, but I do most of my welding in jean-shorts and tank top! (see pic) It's just too darn hot here to wear all the protective gear, especially when I usually weld for seconds at a time with minutes between welds.

    Jim I do to, but I wear shoes and socks now, instead of flip flops, Feet are a little to sensitive to slag!

    Hey Jim! Thanks for the input here. Yep, that sounds like a better plan, I like it. Trouble is ------ I don't know as I plan on painting the body. Looks lovely as is!
    Except for where I spray painted that orangeish paint on the lower quarter. What are you building there now with those pieces of square tube? You got another project going already? perley
