December '06 Rod & Custom had an article on Vacuum Metalizing process, probably the article you're recalling. I don't have any copies here, just found the info on a seach as we talked about it then. This is the company in Santa Ana they referenced; http://www.vacuummetalcoating.com/Last edited by Bob Parmenter; 11-11-2008 at 05:14 PM.

Hi Bill...
It is possible you are thinking of a place called ........
Cap's Brite Hot Coatings
Fresno California
1-559-233-1461
They use a system of throwing the coated parts into a tub of tumbling smooth balls....
No not that kind.......
.....If I remember they are a plastic ball or something, anyway, it polishes the ceramic coating to a high gloss finish.
I had them do a single carb tunnell ram for me and it turned out GREAT...
Here is the tunnell ram...it is slightly rough because I did not smooth it prior to sending it to them, but the shine is excellent and I never had to touch it.....
Sorry, should have did this before I posted, here is their site..... http://www.capsbhc.comLast edited by to-qwk; 11-11-2008 at 06:44 PM.
