Hey Dave, you're right, that is the first offer I've gotten like that "TODAY". I DO get them often though!!! I have an ad on Craigslist for our shop and it seems to be an attraction for "Sponsorships"! I get these guys with, one example, a 94 Jeep Cherokee that he wants painted black with the Marines logo on the hood and doors, and he'd like it done in the next 2 weeks so he can drive it to his brothers Marine graduation form bootcamp. "Lots of people will see it and I'll tell them all who did it, so you should get lots of work from it" is the resounding comment from most of them. I just "calmly" explain that we don't do sponsorships and most places won't either unless the person has a brand new vehicle and is usually a returning builder/champion of the show circuit... Get tired of the people wanting "FREEBIES" all the time...
