The A is looking good and the black engine is looking even better.

I'd be careful hauling something heavy like the trans in the trunk of a modern car.
Get in a wreck and there's a good chance the transmission will keep going and any passengers will be badly hurt.

At the least tie the trans off to something sturdy in the rear chassis area so the trans remains where it should.

Not pickin' on ya here, just want you to be around to enjoy the Model A.

Thanks to everyone for comments. I had not thought of what the trans might do in an accident. I should have rented a U-Haul. Speaking of accidents, because I used up all my jack stands raising the car, I am using a Harbor Frt jack to hold the back of the trans/engine. So far, with me working on the car getting in and out etc, I have managed to have the back of the trans hit the floor 3 times. The last time was Sunday morning : the wife says I heard something fall in the garage. I looked out there and did not see anything fall off the walls and the door was closed. When I went to put my new cross member on, I saw what the big noise was. Yep, the back of the trans spitted off the jack. When it fell, it launched the Holley manifold into the freshly painted firewall. The new trans pan landed right on the newly painted crossmember. The pan was alredy a little scratched from the last two falls!! This will be the 3rd time I painted it. LOL.

Reference the floor, tried Brookville Roadster. Loved the look but did not allow enough set back. This is Direct Sheet Metal (Dave). He is from Bitchin. Very helpful. I highly recommend. I am trying to make this firewall floor air tight. Not visible from the inside and only after I took the old engine out, I did not realize there was a 3/8" gap between the firewall and floor!! No wonder I had to drive with the windows up.
