fender rolling
as you can probably see i own a 91 camaro and i just put a moser 9" in it with 28x11.5 rear tires on it and tey are just barely rubbing the fender lip. ive been looking into a fender roller but i just cant justify spending 300 dol for a fender roller that i am going to use twice. wondering if anybody had any ideas for me. thanks in advance

I made mine from a 3/4" 7075 aluminum plate, I took a scrap piece out of the trash, that was 1.5 x 14.00 long and sawed a slot wide enough to fit (we use a 3 or 5 tooth per inch wood blade) at an angle, then sawed away what was in the way, then belt sand it smooth, then take your time and walk your way around the lip. then you can make a different angle on the other end, to move it more, if need you need to. It was free.
You can go to the scrap metal dealer and get sawed scrap cheap.
I have 295x55x15's on 9" wheels on the rear of my '87 Mustang that just touched.

Anyone can cut one up, but! only some can put it back together looking cool!
Steel is real, anyone can get a glass one.

If you dont like the car too well you could always use the baseball bat method. Also at 300 bucks for the purchase price for the made to roll machine is not that bad, considering the cost of replacing new tires every month if you dont fix it right. You could always sell it when you are done with it.

You seem to have a bit of a canundrum there, can't spend $300 but have too much in the car to do the old baseball bat trick. Maybe you just need to get some different tires that fit.

no i think i probably need to stick with the 28x11.5 i have the money for it but who wants to spend 300 on a fender roller for a one time use if someone else has found a better way to do it...i think part of building a car is managing your money to better the car itself otherwise why do it? im not in this to waste money

It is really not a waste of money if it has to be done, also you could always resell the tool after you use it. Or keep it for future possible use, of a friend might need to rent it. I bought a 700.00 tubing bender to build one car. But now I can can build as many cars as I need to later down the road. You can never have too many tools.

baseball bat trick:
put the car up on stands and stick a baseball bat between the tire and the fender, push the tire around to make the bat roller the fender pushing it outward?
