It is really not a waste of money if it has to be done, also you could always resell the tool after you use it. Or keep it for future possible use, of a friend might need to rent it. I bought a 700.00 tubing bender to build one car. But now I can can build as many cars as I need to later down the road. You can never have too many tools.
