You can't beat the Ford Motorsport (or even the GM version if you tilt that way ) They're new engines and factory made. While you can do better if you want higher performance, the pricing is right for a 'cruiser' engine. My crate motor was the lowest price 5.0, but had the iron GT40P heads that I wanted. I then added the the E303 cam, a set of Crane 1.7 roller rockers and a good set of springs, changed the bolting to ARP, an Edelbrock Performer intake and carb, an MSD small diameter billet distributor plus converted it to a mech. fuel pump and added a Stewart NA$CAR water pump. Total investment - about $2700.
