61 283 block with wrong crank

I need to know if there is a fix for putting a late 283 crank into a early 283 block. I have inherited a 31 ford p/u and the engine needs to be assembled. both the crank and block are machined and ready to go. do i find a crank or a diffrent block? can i machine the block for the clearance i need? yes the casting numbers verify that they are both 283 parts thanks Mo

let me start over, sorry about the lack of info. my name is Mo.
the problem with the crank and block is the lack of clearance for the counterweights on the bottom of the cyl bores there are no reliefs for them I have found info on this problem but answer on fixing it. the early cranks had smaller weights so no need for reliefs. I hope these helps. i will finish my profile to give you somemore info on me. thanks alot . Mo
