I ran the straps through the door opening on the roof right behind the A pillar. I missed a couple bolts hidden under the firewall and lifted up the whole front of the chassis. it bent up the drip rails on both sides causing maybe the worst body damage the car has suffered in its 70 year life . o well at least i had the sense to not run the strap through the windows so i at least saved the doors from damage

Hey falconvan, My floor looked a little like that in the front when I got it. I cut it all out and started over with moving the firewall back about 3". The center to rear was ok to an extent. I wasn't going to jump in that far when I started mine either, but like my father said This car thing is a sickness and once you got it there is no remedy. Oh yea, Is it Fall already? I see you are working on it. Keep on crackin man, you got the sickness. Ain't it sweet!!

Some folks thought thats what was going to happen to me when they seen the pic below . Then I informed them the body only weighed less then 1200 pounds & was picked up at 4 different points w/pipe ran across 4 trusses at each point && the body hung there for 4weeks w/out problems. I even made it a point to measure the distance from the floor to the truss before doing it to see if it sagged any after the body was up there & there was no difference in the before & after measurement...joe
