car crazy!
Has anyone built a custom chassis for their car from scratch? Any information on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

I did it!!
I built a frame for my 'A coupe. I used 2" x 3" box tube and "pie" cut it when I needed a bend. The crossmembers are from 2" X 3" and 2" round tubing.
I used a borrowed '32 frame and made a wooden jig in my garage to hold everything during welding. My frame is tons stronger than the '32, and only weighs 14lbs more.
You really can't see the frame in my 'A, because the body is channeled 5" (East coast style, baby!). It didn't matter that I didn't have the "character line" that all '32 rails have.
Good luck. Measure three times, cut two times, weld one time!Ensure that the path of least resistance is not you...

Thanks for the reply madgrinder, haven't got a car yet but gotta keep on dreamiing!
The engine looks awesome, I like the low intake. That'll be some eye candy when the hood is popped.
