I had a car with an engine fire....we used a sandblaster. I would say take it to an engine shop, have it degreased (cooked in some solution to clean) and then glass bead blast it. My buddy has a home sandblast cabinet with glass beads and it makes aluminum look BRAND NEW, and very bright and clean.
