Holy Cow IC2, are there no bargains in the world? Actually I did get a bargain building my new computer setup when I got three small PC cases which included 480 watt power supplies in each for $9.99 plus shipping (each)! So far the power supplies are OK! I was/am hoping I can set up the H-pipe without welding, just using clamps? What was wrong with yours? I do see that I will have to expand one end of the inlet to match my 2 1/2" collector. Even at the worst case should I not be able to mock it up with clamps, mark it or tack it and then remove for a full weld?

I was able to run an "H" pipe straight across because my pipes were fairly low. A channeled body will do that.

I hung the exhaust, then marked and used a holesaw to cut a hole where the "H" would attach to the headpipes. Then I measured the angle of the headpipes and used the TUBEMITER program to make the pattern for the fishmouth on the cross pipes. Cut the cross pipes to length, tacked them on, put a flange in the middle, then tacked the flanges. Then I unbolted the flange, dropped the pipes and welded it all up.

My pipes are welded solid from the header flange to the outlet. However, if I unbolt the "H" pipe flange and the header flange, they slide back and drop down.

The Summit kit will work if you go straight across using either the straight piece or the bent piece. The pipes that I was supplied had been poorly expanded - way too much, and the clamps supplied were not the heavy duty 3/8 so sealing was suspect. There is little room for adjustment on the suppled pieces as I found that the bent piece would not fit up to mine correctly, clearing my driveshaft as my exhaust system is quite high and out of sight. This, even with cutting and trimming which is why I ended up building the assembly shown on my Post 12 of this thread. While I chose to clamp mine in place, I could have welded it in place.
