Late model Vette with '53 nose and tail!!!

Has anybody seen this car??? It was at a show this weekend here in Knoxville. I walked past it and did a double take!! It was an 02 'vert (doors cowl...) with a wildly flattened, swoopy version of a 53 vette nose grafted on the front and the same treatment but more original looking rear. Even had stainless side trim that was a bit thicker, but styled just like a 53... ABSOLUTELY awesome!!! First glance looked like a foreign exotic. Anyway, I had my paint vendor booth set up and never got back over to shoot it. Anybody seen one (assuming it might be a kit to add on??) Anyway, it was cool! And triple black to boot. I'm gonna do a search to see if I can find a pic.

Hadn't seen one before. The one at our show was black, but just found this white one.

There was a white one at a small local show here. I too did a double take as I walked by. It was so well done that I thought it was a factory car. I couldn't find the owner but a couple guys said that it is a custom kit build. I don't haunt the kit car stuff so I didin't pursue it.. Sure was cool however.

I guess I'm strange in my tastes but I think it is a botched abortion. There was a guy on Bainbridge Island(where I used to live)that had one built and He would drive it and go to a few of the local area shows with it. His was white w/red interior. Fugly IMO.

I've also seen a couple of others here in CO 1 black on black and 1 "bling-bling" custom, 20+ " wheels, glittery candy red w/white. Both Fugly, again my opinion.

Each to their own but not my taste in cars, especially Corvettes.

Different. Obviously some people like them, just like the T-Birds with the 50 Ford front and rear add-ons. Very small market on re-sale. Liking it is a good thing, cause you may own it for a long time. Obviously I'm not much for hybrids.

I'm a fan of the old vettes (hence my 66 bigblock roadster), but NOT a purest by any means. I dig the 62 2x4 as much as the next guy but all in all don't really go for the all original look. Guess thats why I liked the '02-53 merge. Its got that classic look, but all the cool modern features. Wouldn't mind owning one but would probably end up bigblocking it and painting it something other than red, black or white! Any idea what they go for?? Not like I could afford one I'm sure, just curious as to how bad it is!!!

There was a black one running around the South Bay area in Torrance. Haven't seen it for awhile though. Don't care for them myself.

Guess thats pretty cheap considering the cost of a stock convertable to start with! I'd say the newness will wear off pretty quick once they start showing up at different places. I had never seen one and it caught me by surprise...still think its pretty cool though...

Funniest part is when they try to enter a car show with a year cut-off. This guy got turned away because it was a new car. Boy, was he ticked.

At the Main Street Garden Grove, Ca. car show the cut off date is 1975 but they will allow any year Corvette. Cool Retro Vette.
