Need to know how to run a diagnostic on a 98 350.

The only reason I ask is I know you can run a diagnostic check on a Cat engine and was wondering if you could do the same on a new chevy engine since it's run by a computer.

Someone told me you could do it by shorting across the service terminal, but I haven't had any luck

I'm not so sure about the shorting out method you may short something out you don't want to. You can buy a book of codes and a tool to do it the right way from Advance, auto Zone, Pep Boys. George
"Murphy" is always at work...it is only ocassionally he let's us know that...

Think out of the box, you may stumble on something new..
