Sounds good, Steve, and know you have to be getting excited! If you're paying anything near shop rates for labor then you're probably not far off on the justification for the new carb, especially since the eBay unit is a total unknown. Looking forward to the post when it's home!
-
Steve, glad to hear you're making head way on it. It will sure be nice for you. At least you'll be able to enjoy it out there when it is running reliably.
-
Roger, his shop rates are high, new carb $347.95 from summit. I imagine that just a little over 3 hours labor.. Plus he runs a smog business 12 hours a day, so projects like mine are punted to after work hours, and weekends. therefore by getting new carb it speeds the whole process up!
-
Ryan thanks yep looking forward to getting back to work on it.

More progress. New carburetor is now installed and truck is running great. Now a bunch of rerouting issues of lines by transmission linkage that were moved when the exhaust was installed. So Randy is now working on adjusting the transmission linkage and then a quick check of the brakes. I still haven't seen it since it went in for the exhaust, so hopefully I'll get it back some time this month. Patience is a good thing at this point.
-
Progress is good! Hopefully the rerouting goes well and you can cruise it soon.
-
Whenever I have a lot of progress.. I seem to lose all my patience! It's time for a cruise..
-
I think I have to get it back first! :) Nicest thing Randy said was he couldn't believe the amount of work I had done. Made me feel good!
-
I think once he's done, other than putting everything back on it plumbing a window wiper unit, sanding the entire enterior and priming, wiring headlights, tail lights, getting glass installed, getting new tires, replacing front leaf springs, etc. that it should be ready by...............another year or two! :) :) :)

Got a catalog email from LMC trucks last night featuring these new under hood insulation kits, looks like it would snaz up the truck a bit when it gets closer to being done. Thought some other F1 owners might like em or may have used one?

They also had these new tail gate latches with cables that might also be added to the truck.

LMC Truck (Long Motor Company) is about ten miles from my house.... Good guys, and a TON of aftermarket truck parts in Lenexa!!
-
Very cool Roger
I talked with Mechanic friend Randy today, he got my tranmission lines plumbed in with metal lines bent nicely to allow work on started, and exhaust if needed. He is next working on transmission linkage and then quick brake assessment
Might add some additional beef to motor mounts too, and maybe some fr4ame reinforcement around where a cut out allowed the exhaust to fit. Alll in all exciting and good news.
-
That's good news Steve. Be nice to see you making progress on your project.

Nice to hear you're making head way on the truck. The hood insulation would help spruce under the hood it's self I bet.
