I have herd that if you spray the surronding area with pam the spatter will not stick. Ed ke6bnl1949 Ford F1 stocker, V8 flatty

I have a Snap-On 110v mig unit and use CO2 as shielding gas and it works very well with .023 wire.
the shop I retired from uses only CO2 and .045 solid wire, thats where I learned to mig weld 25 yrs ago.Blue Oval Die Hard//N.S.M.C. Charter/Life Member//
