In the bay area you should have an abundance of boat yard type places. That is where you want to go, or to a place specializing in fiberglass and resin. The places like BoatU/S, West Marine, Boaters World sell that prepackaged stuff and get an arm and leg for it.

I just priced West Marine and they get $ 45 a gallon for house brand polyester resin. I pay $ 24-$26 at a true boat repair type discount house.

Look in the yellow pages under fiberglass supplies or for boat yards. Shop around, you will be amazed at the difference in price, and it is all the same stuff.
