the ABS panels that Roddoor uses to make there door & panels

is there anywhere you can buy locally 8' X 4' sheets of the black ABS sheets that Roddoors uses to make there stuff? I am wanting to make some flat panels for my '39 chevy myself & am hoping at there is somewhere I can buy this stuff myself without having to go thru roddoors. it is not that they sell the 8X4 sheets to high, it is the shipping is what kills you. I hope someone on the board knows where you can get it. thanks for any leads

theres probably a use for it in home improvement, check home depot or lowes, some of the bathroom enclosures are ABS and I know you can buy like 4x4 sections of blank ABS from them, might be able to Special order, 4X8's
You don't know what you've got til it's gone

I think I've seen that stuff at Lowe's or Home Depot.
Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

I don't know if it is similar or not, but check out "Starboard". It is widely used in the marine industry, and I was surprised to learn the guy who is going to do my interior uses it as upholstery board. Comes in various thicknesses.

I buy insulation panels(4' x 8') at Home Depot. They are water resistant non corrigated cardboard(1/8") with alum. on one side. They run < $10 a sheet.

They are great for door panels

I have purchased it at a local plastic dealer. Not a retailer, but does sell to public. I would look in yellow pages and call some and be sure to ask if they don't, who does. ABS plasitic sheets, I believe what I bought was 4x8. What it does not have that Rod Doors has is the vacume formed edge to accomodate the velcroe.

Black textured 1/8" thick ABS sheets are roughly $34 each from Cadillac plastics....check the JELLO PAGES from your closest big city...Indianapolis?

Also check with sign shops.... they will have a place they get light weight sign board and most of these places will also carry ABS.
Rod Doors is nice but they are $$$$ for flat stock you are better off buying direct
